Songs of the Season 2023- Break Forth, O Beauteous Heavenly Light – The Roches
Rod Dreher posted this today, along with a reflection that is well worth reading, which can be found here: Light Dawns In A Dark Cave. I had never heard this one before, so please enjoy.
Orthodox Christian mom with more than a passing interest in technology. And music. And history... And, and... My poor kids, right? They ask me a question and they get a lesson on something or another! In any case, I've always liked to write, so please grab a cup of tea (or other hot beverage) and let's get to know each other through the written word. :)
May God bless and keep you, this day and always.

I must have heard of the Roches from Rod. I have a couple of their carols on my Christmas playlist in Apple music. Tonight I heard their “Joy to the World” and was paying attention enough to notice that they sing, “She rules the world with truth and grace…” I checked three times (once on YouTube) to be sure I was hearing right. Well, no one ever said they were Christians.
I really liked that post from Rod and since it was public, I shared it with a lot of people. I really enjoy posting the music, but some of it is unfamiliar to me and then I’ll even forget what it was, so it’s nice to get these comments on older things as well. (The German side of my brain keeps telling me that I need to start tracking it all in a spreadsheet, but that is a lot of work!)
