Line 1: You could do a lot worse than “spade” for a beginning word!
Line 2: So if I move the “E” to the middle position, I’m guessing that “T” is the most likely choice for a blend with the “S” – awesome! The “N” is a bonus too!
Line 3: “Stein” seems to be the best guess here, and it works! I thought the days of 3-guess games might be over, what with some of the silly starts, but I’m glad to have gotten this.
