Wordle explanations are posted a day late to ensure that no one accidentally sees the solution before playing.
Line 1: “Libel” didn’t do great, but I got an “L” in the wrong place, at least.
Line 2: The “L” is still floating around, but at least I got an “A” to go with it.
Line 3: “Talcy” – as in “like talc”, right? “AL” is correct, at least, and we’ve now got a “T” floating around.
Line 4: I knew it couldn’t be “talon” because the “T” was in the wrong spot, but I was having such a hard time thinking of anything to play, and I wanted to play “O” and “N”, because I needed more letters here!
Line 5: I got frustrated (and busy) so there was about 20 minutes between lines 4 and 5 as I took a breather. I played “vault” without looking really well at the previous words… Of course, it wasn’t correct, but it made it clear that the “T” was in spot 4.
Line 6: I started going letter by letter to see what would go “ALT_”. “S” would be a candidate, but it had been played and wasn’t in the puzzle. I got through to “Z” and it finally clicked that the word “waltz” was a possibility, and thankfully, it was correct. (I don’t know what other words would have been available to play!) Very tough.
