It’s been another week that’s just flown by. It was a hot week, to be sure! I’m grateful for the summers here, particularly that they’re much cooler than the summers I remember as a kid an hour and a half south of here. Besides the air conditioning not giving out completely, we discovered how nice going down to Lake Michigan is, even if it’s just to get our feet wet. Surprisingly, one of the times, all five of my kids were there, which is a thing that I’m also grateful for.

I’m grateful that my kids have friends that invite them over, whether it be for parties or just to hang out. I’m thankful for invitations as well, particularly when having kids with me is completely fine.
I’m very thankful that a surprise that hit the wallet wasn’t a month ago, because the situation then would have been much different. I’m also very grateful for what seems to be an easing of a situation that I can’t really write about here.
I’m grateful for my kids’ enthusiasm for Independence Day, and their imperative that it be celebrated properly. 🙂 It’s not that I wouldn’t have done something on my own, but when a person has a six-year-old who is so excited about the fireworks that she’s bouncing around for a week in anticipation… Well, we are going to make sure that there are fireworks. *L* I am thankful for this country in more ways than I know how to say. I love other places as well as people from all over the world, but the more one experiences outside the US, the more unique the US seems to be.

July 5th has also been a special date for me personally because of a certain friend. Birthdays ought to be celebrations, but in some cases, those birthdays are victories as well.
Anyway – I have a dentist appointment quite early tomorrow, and I’m starting to fall asleep here, so please know, as always, of my gratitude and admiration for all reading this.
