  2. I think I agree with Andrew Gould. Even the stained glass windows that I like here, that aren’t too busy or bright, the ones that let in a lot of light and don’t clash with the more subtle icons, don’t seem fitting in an Orthodox church. Our fresco painter explained once — I will have to ask him again — why we don’t have big windows and views of the outdoors, why it’s actually better to be “in the dark,” sort of….

    The OCA church in Las Vegas has really huge, not stained-glass, windows, and it gives the impression of an office building. 😦
